Now that I have that out on the table, I must boast about how much my baby girl is doing these days! Just in the last couple of weeks she has started to wave (and say!) bye-bye, and is also doing patty cake! It might be the cutest darn thing I've ever seen in my life. I know every baby eventually does this, but when it's your own baby it's extra cute! She also has some major teefers coming in. Her lower centrals have been fully erupted for several months, but lately she is working on getting all four of her upper incisors at once. Poor baby! She has become quite the mommy's girl too. She is reaching for me, and sometimes cries when I leave the room. It's kind of annoying, but sweet at the same time. Her sweet uncle Matt (Gleis) watched her last night...while we went to the AMAZING Easter Pageant at church. She was crying when we left, so I tried really hard not to check in with Matt every five minutes...but he swears that she settled down and went to bed just fine. By the way...if you haven't seen the Pageant pleeeease try to go!!!...it's an awesome performance about Jesus' life and His sacrifice for us.
This past weekend was great. I hosted a Stella and Dot and Kelly's Kids trunk show at my house. If you didn't get an invite I apologize...I was very last-minute in sending any invites out. I will be bit more on the ball next time...which will probably be in the fall when the fall/winter line of jewelry and clothes comes out. I wasn't as excited about getting the "perks" from hosting a party as I was about getting my house CLEAN for the party. Mere (the sis) is the best cleaner I've ever met. Her house is always squeaky clean, but mine....not so much. I have a lot of trouble keeping my house clean and organized. It's just not one of my strong points. Good thing I married a man who is okay with this!
Anyways...we had a blast. It was just an open house, and people dropped in all day long. Some came to shop, others came to hang out...it was great! Sarah, my college friend and graduate school roommate, was in town from Memphis and was selling the kids clothing. I hadn't ever heard of Kelly's Kids, but apparently it's been around for a long time. The clothes were cute, and they took over my entire house! I bought MQ a couple of things. The Stella and Dot jewelry was adorable, too! Meagan was the one selling the jewelry...and boy, was the jewelry adorable! I'm going to order the Starfish necklace :) Can't wait to wear it! Meagan is 19 weeks preggers, and looks great! Her little GIRL is going to be beautiful, and is going to have the most adorable nursery ever since Meagan and her mom own Rabbit in the Moon children's boutique! If you haven't ever been to that store...go! It's precious!!!!!
If you want to make sure you know about the next trunk show that we have...let me know. I'll be sure to get you the invite. Even if you don't have kids or need any jewelry, it's fun to just hang out with a bunch of girls (and babies) and drink coffee and eat cookies! :)
Okay...gotta go clean my house again!...having a baby shower this weekend for our sweet friends Sara and Ryan who are expecting TWIN GIRLS any day now!
Your baby girl is precious and your house looks great. Can't wait to hang out and shower the twins with lots of love tomorrow night!
ReplyDeleteHey Carmel!! The show looks like it was so much fun! How cute all those clothes are! :) And about blogging...I am totally a supporter of it, (obviously), but I also understand the emotional weirdness of it sometimes when you start thinking about what other people want to read instead of what you want to write. It's been good for me to be convicted about that and just be true to myself. It always turns out to be therapeutic for me, and I do love have an online scrapbook of our life. And I feel like I can honor God by sharing what He places on my heart at times. Definitely worth it! :) And I LOVE seeing all the super cute pictures of MQ...as I'm sure everyone else does too! Hope to see you all soon. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute post and a CUTE baby!! Thanks for the shout out ;)
