They went to high school together then Pat went off to UNC for undergrad (he's a smarty-pants). He moved to Georgia when he graduated from college, and hasn't lived in Louisville ever since. He and his wife, Lindsay, are still in Georgia where he's the editor of a hunting magazine (don't ask me which one, but I know it's one of the big-wig ones...he's pretty much a stud!). I know he sometimes reads this blog and probably wants to pull his hair out in frustration with how grammatically incorrect my writing is! Sorry, Pat! Eric and Pat have occasional "phone dates" (this is what I've named them...) where they schedule a time to sit down in front of the t.v. with a football or basketball game on, drink a beer "together" and catch up on life. It's hilarious. Eric will usually give me a heads up that he's going to call Pat...which means I can't expect any undivided attention from him during that time that he's on the phone. Lately due to busy schedules with work and babies, it's been tough for them to coordinate their phone dates, so I'm so glad they get to actually hang out tonight while Pat and Linds are in town for Thanksgiving.
So that brings me to a night by myself, on the couch, watching Carrie Underwood unplugged on t.v. (and Adele and Martina McBride are on next...yay!!! This is weird for me...I rarely watch t.v.!). By the way...did you know that Carrie's song, Temporary Home, was written after Carrie read the book Purpose Driven Life? Great book!...if you haven't read it, I highly recommend it! Anyhow, I figured now was a good time to catch up on this blog. I have to ask for a lot of grace with this blog, please! People keep telling me that they check my blog all the time looking for new posts and are disappointed that I haven't updated...first of all, thanks for reading! Second, please forgive me. I'm really having a tough time finding the time to sit down and put all of my millions of thoughts down in a post. It just seems so daunting. Plus, I still don't have a camera. I've been without a camera for over a month now, so I've been taking pictures on my flip-phone (which finally gave out today), then sending them to Eric's iphone, then emailing them to myself from Eric's iphone, then finally download them on my computer in order to upload them onto this blog...whoa, that's a lot of work! The pictures I have absolutely STINK!...but at least I have a few.
This little girl is hilarious! She is talking, singing, and dancing all the time. She loves the bath tub, she loves brushing her teeth (and constantly asks for more toothpaste), and loves her "Dadda". Last night our sitter, Ceci, said MQ kept pointing to the t.v. and saying "Dadda, ball"...which means, "My daddy watches the t.v. a lot and it's always on a sports channel that involves some type of ball."
The other night I looked over and MQ was snuggled up on the couch reading one of her Dr. Seuss books upside down. So cute!
This picture above is from the other day...this is what we do on my days off...I love on her a lot!!! It's hard to keep my lips off of those cheeks!!! This is what she does when you ask her to "smile"...love those little chompers!
Okay...I'm getting sleepy now. Off to bed I go....night, night!
Not sure if you caught that comment earlier...my phone, my old-school flip-phone that I've had for sooooo long finally died yesterday. Now the big decision...do I cave in and get an iphone, or just stick with the basic phone? I know that if I got a smart phone, I'd be on it all the time. I'll let you know.
